Strength in Experience

I grew up in Bayonne, NJ watching ships and tugs make the transit through the Kil Van Kull. I attended Massachusetts Maritime Academy and joined Masters, Mates, and Pilots right out of school. I started on one of the lowest paying and hardest working ships in the MMP fleet (M/V Asphalt Commander). I worked my way through almost every commercial shipping company contracted with MMP, sailing as both junior and senior level deck officer. During my time as Master, I have sailed across a multitude of runs from Atlantic and Pacific Crossings to a Southern China Shuttle run. My last ship I sailed as Permanent Master on the APL Gulf Express. She would call 5 ports a week on a Persian Gulf shuttle.

These experiences have challenged me through my career and prepared me for the challenges to come in our Union. I know what true leadership looks like because I have witnessed it through working with my Union Brothers and Sisters for the past 16 years. Through weather, traffic, cargo, tie ups and let go’s I have been proud to be a part of our Organization. With you by me side, I look forward to leading us into the future.
